On 19 April 2016 I was invited by the European Commission’s “DG CONNECT / Converging Media and Content Unit G1″ to advise on the Unit’s Work Programme for 2018-2020. An interesting as well as challenging undertaking, as participants were asked to envision what the media landscape will look like in 2030 in order for the Unit to formulate coresponding activities and programmes. Hence, a lot of brainstorming, discussions, pinning down of ideas (we used enormous amounts of “post-its”) and debate took place throughout the day. According to the hosts, it provided them with lots of useful insights. Let’s see whether and how this will be reflected in future work programmes!
