Interview: dealing with eyewitness media

Here’s an extract of a video interview I gave to journalists who participated in the EBU’s SkillsXchange at Prix Italia 2015. Andrej Cebokli (MMC, RTV Slovenia) and Marina Strauss (Deutsche Welle, Germany) conducted it with myself and Dhruti Shah, journalist at the BBC’s User Generated Content and Social Media Hub. We talked about various aspects of sourcing and verifying information residing in social networks. The respective article can be found here.

On video: eyewitness media, news(gathering) and the role of verification

Here’s a video interview I did with journalism.co.uk at the news:rewired conference in London on 16 July 2015. I talk about sourcing content from social media, verification of eyewitness media, tools to use, best practices and what we do in the EC co-funded project Reveal. View it on YouTube or just click below.

Interview with Jeff Jarvis

At Deutsche Welle’s Global Media Forum in June 2014 I talked to Jeff Jarvis, author (What would Google do?), professor at City University of New York and journalist (Buzzmachine). I talked to him about the future of journalism and the impact Social Media is having on the profession.

In this video you can find out what Jeff Jarvis had to say on the matter.
